Harold "George" Laurer

CONNERSVILLE, IN: Harold "George" Laurer, 86 of Connersville, IN, formerly of Fremont, OH, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home.

Born in Fremont, Ohio, he was one of four children born to Mary (Edmeier) & George Laurer; later, he was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the European Theater.

Harold began his employment with Philco/Ford, later Visteon, in 1963, retiring in 1991; he also was a member of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church and enjoyed collecting stamps and baseball cards and bowling.

Survivors include two daughters: Kathryn "Kit" Benefield of Gibsonburg, OH and Georgette Jackman of Connersville; his sons: Mathew of Connersville, Michael of Nashville, TN, Gary of Dallas, TX, Mark of Tiffin, OH and John of Cincinnati, OH, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchilren.

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: George W. and Joseph F. Laurer; and a sister, Francis Falter

Family and friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday December 6, 2012 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home; a time of remembrance will be conducted at 3:30 PM by Rev. Stanley J. Herber. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Friday, December 7, 2012 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH; burial with military rites will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery - family and friends may call at the church from 12 PM until the time of the service; they may also visit anytime online at millermosterrobbins.com
