FREMONT: Helen M. Rutan, 95, of Fremont, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Valley View Healthcare Center.

She was born September 25, 1916 in Fremont the daughter of Claude and Margaret (Kern) Nickles. She married Herman Nieset on July 15, 1937 at St. Ann's Church. He died on October 26, 1975. She then married Elmer Meyer on October 17, 1980 at St. Ann's Church. He died February 3, 1981. She married Philip Rutan on August 8, 1985 at St. Ann's Church. He died May 26,2007. She graduated from Ross High School in 1934.

Helen worked at the office of S.E. Hyman Co., and in the office of Sears as a bookkeeper. She was also a proud homemaker who loved her family very much. Helen was a member of St. Ann's Society, Order of Martha, Daughters of Isabella, St. Francis Senior Guild, Eagles Auxillary, Eagles REAC, Moose Auxillary, Countryside Auxillary, and an Honorary Member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Helen is survived by her children, Lawrence Nieset, Thomas (Janet) Nieset, Mary (Gary) Wurzel, and Nancy (Roger) Von Eitzen, all of Fremont; eight grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; sister, Avonelle Lotycz of Fremont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents; three husbands; brother, Howard; grandson, Matthew.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:30AM at St. Ann's Church, Fremont. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in the St. Ann's section. Memorial donations may be made to St. Ann's Church or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
