James F. "Jim" Bishop

HELENA: James F. "Jim" Bishop, 71, of Helena, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born March 4, 1942 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Woodrow and Blanche (Blohm) Bishop. He married Leota G. " Lotie" Stahl on June 9, 1961 at the Risingsun First Church of God, and she preceded him in death September 8, 2011.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Annette (Michael "Mickey") St. Clair, Bonnie (Bill) Stafford, and Mark Bishop, all of Helena, and Wendi (Gary) Paxson, of Fremont; eight grandchildren, Billie (Whitney) Stafford, Medina, Kristopher (Rachel) Stafford, New Riegel, Kyle (Cierra) Bishop, Helena, Kyrie' (Jason) Kreais, Gibsonburg, Johnathan Paxson and Jacob Paxson, both of Fremont, Michael (Valerie) St. Clair, and Tony (Tamara) St. Clair, both of Fostoria; five great-grandchildren, Rylee & Bailey Stafford, and Michael, Shalee & Tony St. Clair; sisters, Mary Lou (Bill) Hiser, Bairdstown, and Carol (Paul) Albin, Cincinnati; and a brother, David (Sandy) Bishop, Cincinnati.

Jim was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Aylee Marie Stafford August 9, 2013.

Jim was a member of the First Church of God in Risingsun. Also a member of the National Rifle Association, he enjoyed hunting as well as fishing. He mainly enjoyed any activities that involved his grandchildren. Known by them as "Gramps", his grandchildren were his world, and he theirs. Jim and his late wife Lotie were foster parents to numerous children.

He was a 1960 North Baltimore High School graduate. He owned and operated Community Builders of Northwest Ohio for nearly 30 years.

A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will begin 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the First Church of God in Risingsun, Rev. Dave Lippert, presiding.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to the funeral home or the First Church of God, Risingsun.
