Mary Elizabeth Sanders
HOUSTON, TX: Mary Elizabeth Sanders, born August 11, 1923, in Fremont, Ohio, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston, Texas.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Maynard Garnet "Pete" Sanders (1920 - 2002); and her revered parents, Frank E. and Bonnie C. Shoup of Fremont, Ohio.
She is survived by her son, Frank Edward Sanders, her daughter-in-law, Deborah Beale Sanders; and her two grandchildren, Chloe Elizabeth Sanders and Frederick Beale Sanders, all of Houston, Texas.
Born in Fremont, Ohio, she was a long-time resident until leaving in 2004 to reside in Houston, Texas. She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. For 36 years she was a teacher for the Fremont school district. She primarily taught a fifth grade class at Hayes Elementary School. In the mid 1960s she returned to Bowling Green University and earned a master's degree in education. She was a long-time member of Hayes United Methodist Church.
Her ashes will be brought to Fremont for interment at a future date, and a memorial service will be held at that time. Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
