FREMONT: Roy W. Fausey, 86, of N. CR 198, Fremont passed away at home on Saturday, July 14, 2012. He was born on October 21, 1925 in Gibsonburg, OH, the son of Ross and Millie (Nause) Fausey.
Roy served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1945 to 1947 as a Military Policeman (M.P.) and was awarded WWII Victory Medal; Asiatic Pacific Theater ribbon; Expert Infantry Badge and Army of Occupation Medal.
He married Donna M. Allen on May 10, 1946 in Elmore, OH and she preceded him in death on February 12, 2005.
Roy worked as a Truck Driver for Hal Miller & Sons for twenty-seven years. He then drove truck part time for B. J. Gries and retired in 2000. Roy was a member of First United Church of Christ. He was a Life member of the V.F.W. and a member of the Ohio Buckeye Pulling Association. He enjoyed going to area Fairs, horse pulls and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his children, David (Marla) Fausey, Tucson, AZ, Paula (James) Mathias, Roger (Gina) Fausey, Dana (Dennis) Filliater, all of Fremont, OH, Eric Fausey, Livermore, ME, Joyce (Vincent) Palomino, Green Springs, OH; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna M. Fausey and brother, Clayton Fausey.
Visitation, Friday from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH. Service, Friday, July 20, 2012, Noon at the funeral home with Rev. Elaine Bast officiating. Burial, Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH with Military Honors provided by the American Legion and VFW.
