Wallace E. Wilson

FREMONT: Wallace E. Wilson, 88, of Fremont, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Countryside Continuing Care Center. He was born November 13, 1924 in Fremont the son of Oscar Clyde and Marie (Maier) Wilson.

He entered the US Navy in 1942 and was a veteran of WWII. He married Ruby Irene Collier August 25, 1946 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont. Not long after that, he and Ruby became members of St. John's Lutheran Church, where they were members for 65 years. He was the owner/operator of Wilson's Plumbing for many years. He was also a member of the Fremont Veterans of Foreign Wars and Free & Accepted Masons Of Ohio, 336 Brainard Lodge in Fremont. Wally loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was also a resident of Elmwood Assisted Living of Fremont for two years and made many friends and memories there.

He is survived by his children, David (Linda) Wilson, Richard (Debra) Wilson, Linda (Jerry) Gabel, all of Fremont, Donald Wilson of Toledo, Diane (Charlie) Santiago, Nancy Wilson-Durst, both of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; twin sister, Phyllis Hagerty; sister, Esther Slemmer; and step-sister, Anna May Cook.

Funeral services were private. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 212 Clover St., Fremont.
