William "Bill" McKinney

FREMONT: Fremont resident, William "Bill" McKinney, 74, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 28, 2012.

He was born on January 3, 1938 in Toledo to Milton and Rose (Zak) McKinney. Bill was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Fremont. In April of 1960 he married Judy Miller and she survives. Bill was a postal clerk for a number of years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past St. Joseph Booster. He enjoyed golf and lived & breathed being an Ohio State Fan. Bill was a loving grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Cheryl (Kevin) Hill of Fremont, Mark (Machelle) McKinney of Marysville and Lisa (Tony) Johnson of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Kevin, Joseph, Vincent, Meghan & Makayla McKinney, Kyle, Stephanie & Matthew Hill, Jacob, Noah, Jeremy & Brandon Johnson; sisters, Penny Forsythe and Linda Atkins; and a cousin, Lloyd "Mac" McKinney.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rosemary Wolfe; brothers, Milton McKinney Jr. and Robert "Bob" Zak.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with one hour of visitation at church prior to the mass. Rev. Michael Zacharias will officiate.

Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital or Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
