Evelyn J. Frontz

FREMONT: Evelyn J. Frontz, 94, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Parkview Care Center, Fremont. She was born in Fremont on August 29, 1919 to Elmer and Emma (Weichel) Balsizer.

A lifelong resident of Riley Twp. she was a 1937 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, and attended BGSU for her teaching degree. She taught at the Washington Elementary School in Lindsey, Clyde-Green Springs Schools, and Croghan School. She also farmed on the side.

Evelyn was a member of Junguindendah, Plant-n-Bloom Garden Club, and the Farm Counsel, as well as the Retired Teachers Association. Over the years she loved sewing, quilting, gardening and was a wonderful grandmother to 4 granddaughters.

Evelyn married John Frontz on May 1, 1942 at Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont. She is preceded in death by him.

Evelyn is survived by children, Stephen (Cindy) Frontz of Fremont and Stephanie Frontz of Rochester, NY; four granddaugthters; and three great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, William McGrath; and three sisters, Faye Brokema, Helen Lloyd, and Ruth Balsizer.

Visitation will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church, 705 W. State St., Fremont on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.. with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. Pastor James Avers will be officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
