George Alexander Busch

LAS VEGAS, NV: George Alexander Busch, 89, a nearly life-long resident of Gibsonburg, OH died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Creekside Hospice in Las Vegas, NV. He had moved to Las Vegas in January to be near family.

He was born July 27, 1923 at home in Gibsonburg to George H. and Martha (Bell Alexander) Busch. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Marilyn Schultz of Fremont; two daughters, Deborah (Fred) Matheny of Montrose, CO, and Betsy (Greg) Marsh of Henderson, NV; three grandchildren, Ross (Laura) of Sammamish, WA, Lt. Scott (Kimberly) Marsh of Virginia Beach, VA, and Laura (Dr. Brian) Weylie of Las Vegas, NV; and four great-grandchildren, Blythe Matheny and Ryan, Kali, and Hailey Marsh.

George served his country proudly as a Navy chief pharmacist mate in WWII on the USS Durik in the north Atlantic. He was employed for 43 years at Atlas Industries. He was a well-known scoutmaster in Gibsonburg and was awarded the Silver Beaver; volunteered with the Sandusky County Emergency Medical Services and the Sandusky County Park District; and was a life-long member of the American Legion Post and the Masonic Lodge in Gibsonburg. He was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors, birding, and gardening. He felt especially fortunate to have a wonderful family.

A private family service will be held in Las Vegas, NV.
