Richard E. "Dick" Curns

TIFFIN: Richard E. "Dick" Curns, 66, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, in Columbus.

He was born on March 13, 1946, in Tiffin, Ohio to Alvin H. and Mary Lou (Smith) Curns. On June 26, 1965, he married Jeannine Adams and she survives.

Also surviving are 2 daughters, Lori (James) Fate of Summerville, SC and Lynn (Todd) Hull of Tiffin; brother, Kenneth (Sherry) Curns of Tiffin; 5 sisters, Donna (Don) Miller of Old Fort, Jeanette (Dave) Beidelschies of McCutchenville, and Bonnie (Richard) Sanford, Cindy (Nick) Heilman all of Tiffin; Brenda (Joe) Hiestand of Fremont; and 4 granddaughters, Raelyn and Rachel Fate and Bailey and Emily Hull.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dick graduated in 1964 from Old Fort High School and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. After high school he worked for Waldo Zies Builders and then became self employed as Curns Builders. He built many homes around the area and was a member of the Seneca County Home Builders. He was also part owner of Clinton Heights Golf Course. Dick enjoyed traveling in his RV to South Carolina and relaxing in his chair with his two dogs on his lap. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.

His funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Donna Van Trees officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Funeral Home.
