Robert Dale Miller

CLYDE: Robert Dale Miller, 88, of Clyde, died Monday morning at his residence. He was born July 26, 1925 in Fremont, the son of Dale Edgar and Dorothy (Harris) Miller.

Robert was enlisted in the United States Army serving overseas as a mechanic during WWII. Upon his return from the service he was employed by the Pet Milk company, Crown Battery and retired from Whirlpool after 28 years of service. He also enjoyed carpentry work ,car mechanics, traveling throughout the United States and day trips to Amish Country.

Robert had a strong sense of family, he was the third generation to work on his family's farm and was later responsible for planning most of the family reunions. Robert was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Clyde where he served as a trustee, the Clyde Eagles and V.F.W.

Surviving are his children: Larry (Carolyn) Miller of Columbus, OH, Randy (Catherine) Miller of Franklin,TN, Amy (Ramon) Skeels of Prescott, AZ, Sherry Jackson of Kettering, Debra Blodgett of Fremont, Jack Whitaker of Columbus, Paul Whitaker of Lindsey; grandchildren: James, Kevin, Cory, Amanda, Allyson, Eric, Elaine Miller, Michelle, Angie and Jeremy Skeels and 30 great-grandchildren; siblings: Daniel Miller of Tampa, FL, Gerald Miller of Fremont, OH, Janice Frye of Ocala, FL, Mary Ann Isabel of Dunnellon, Florida. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine (Murphy) Miller, second wife, Naomi (Steeleman) Whitaker Miller.

A memorial luncheon will take place at 2:00P.M. on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the Clyde Eagles, 1120 S. Main Street, Clyde, OH, where the family invites friends to come and share their fellowship and memories. Burial will be held privately at McPherson Cemetery in Clyde, OH.
