Connie Ann Rood, 62, of Radcliff, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 24, 1950, and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Eileen Bowers. Connie loved animals. She was an avid cross-stitcher who won several awards for her work. She also was a devoted fan of Elvis and a collector of his memorabilia. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her six children, David, Matthew, William and Kevin Rood, and Jason and Chris Battig. She also is survived by a sister, Sherri Metz; a brother, Gary Bowers; a lifelong friend, William C. Rood Jr.; and three grandsons, Devon, Seth and Aiden.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Connie didn't know u very well, but I knew your family. You will be missed by all who loved you, the animals will also be with out your caring hand, it is not very many that have the love in there heart for animals that you had. There is a better place that awaits you, Go and fly with the angels.

We will always remember Connie. She did love those dogs and love children. She will be in loving arms and good company. I hope the family will be at peace and think of the loving person she was.
