Betty H. Travis, 76, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at her residence.
She was a native of Franklin County and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. She retired after 40 years as a school teacher for Elizabethtown Independent and Hardin County Schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy K. Travis; parents, Robert and Beulah Barbour Henderson; a sister, Louise Logan; and a brother, J. L. Henderson.
Survivors include her sons, Brad (Gayle) Travis and Todd Travis, both of Elizabethtown; a sister, Mary Helen Sinkhorn of Stamping Ground; and two grandchildren, Zac and Katie Travis.
A memorial service is at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Roger McCurry officiating. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Frankfort City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Childrens' Hospital or PAWS Shelter Foundation, P.O. Box 1116, Elizabethtown, KY 42702.

Ms Travis was my first grade teacher at Morningside Elementary, and I still remember what a sweet lady she was. You truly have an angel watching over you all now.
