George A. Darnell, 77, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
He was a volunteer firefighter and an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. He was a self-employed electrician.
He is survived by a daughter, Gia Maria Young (Samuel) of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Samantha, Marvin and Peter Young; two brothers, Robert Darnell (Mona) of Elizabethtown and Charles Darnell (Chrystal) of Rinneyville; two sisters, Ann Lockhart and Carolyn Schwarthoffer, both of Louisville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Howevalley United Methodist Church. Burial follows in Louisville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
Percell & Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss. In the short time I was allowed to spend with Mr. Darnell I could tell he knew he was loved very much. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
