Charles Winford Wilson, 74, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health System.
He was born May 10, 1938, in Anneta, the son of the late Claud and Delphia McGrew Wilson.
He was a retired mechanic fand a part-time playground inspector for the city of Owensboro, who enjoyed knife trading, flea markets and fishing. He was a U.S. Army
veteran, a member and past master of the Stanley Masonic Lodge #878, worthy patron of the Stanley Eastern Star #253, the Madisonville Shriner Rizpah, a Kentucky Colonel, the AMVETS and a member of the New Harmony United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Daugherty Wilson; three daughters, Charlotte Gibson of Caneyville, Lisa Wilson of Bowling Green and Teresa Wilson of Russellville; two sons, Junior and Ricky Wilson of Leitchfield; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Charles Wilson.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Brother Curtis McGee and Brother Jo Jo Watson officiating. Burial follows in McGrew Cemetery. A Masonic and an Eastern Star service is at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until time of service at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
