Clarence A. Jenkins, 95, of Vine Grove, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Kensington Center in Elizabethtown.
Mr. Jenkins was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church and Father Diemert Council, Knights of Columbus in Vine Grove. He retired from the U.S. Army and Air Force Exchange Service with 33 years of service. The avid University of Kentucky basketball fan was a volunteer at Hardin Memorial Hospital and for the American Red Cross.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Marie Jenkins.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Jenkins; four children, Ann (Bob) Caspar of Elizabethtown, Paul (Cathy) Jenkins of Elizabethtown, John (Janice) Jenkins of Radcliff and Maggie (Mike) Beville of Elizabethtown; a sister, Ethel Jones of Brandenburg; 11 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, at St. Brigid Catholic Church with the Revs. Daniel Lincoln and Wayne Jenkins officiating. Burial follows in St. Brigid Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and continues at 9 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove. There is a prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
