David Lane Rogers, also known as "Daddy Rob," "Beefy" and "Bic Bic," 51, of Radcliff, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Mr. Rogers was a veteran of the U.S. Army
. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing bingo.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Lane Rogers II; a daughter, Gerray Maelyn; his father, Eddie Lee Rogers; two brothers, Ronnie Rogers and Robert Lee Rogers; and two sisters, Brenda Rogers and Helen Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Geralynn Marie Rogers of Radcliff; three children, Sam Valentine of Radcliff, Da'Vonne Rogers of Inglewood, Calif., and Mikey Westfall of Elizabethtown; his mother, Mable R. Rogers of Radcliff; two sisters, Roberta Rogers and Frances Albernathy, both of Radcliff; two brothers, Michael Rogers of Ekron and Tommy Rogers of Zion Grove; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rogers's funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove. Burial, with military honors, follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
