Donald Howard Bott Sr., 81, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at his residence.
He was a native of Jefferson County who served in the Navy during the Korean conflict
. He was the regional business manager for Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. He was a 20-year member of Elizabethtown Lions Club and was president for one year; and a longtime member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastian B. and Freda Juanita Anderson Bott.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda L. Staples Bott; a son, Donald H. Bott Jr. of Louisville; three daughters, Sheree L. Ammon of Louisville and Valerie Renee (Samuel) Arslanian and Amy Ball, both of Elizabethtown; a sister, June M. Nicholson of Lou-isville; five grandchildren, Sarah Peek, Freda Arslanian, Tabitha Arslanian, Kyle Ball and Amelia Ball; and a great-granddaughter, Lilly Richie.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Roger Jasper officiating. Burial follows in Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
