Doris McQueen Bell, 97, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Kensington Center.
She was a native of Jackson County, a retired school teacher
from Fort Knox School System and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Retired Col. Roy J. Bell; parents, A.C. and Sarah Moore McQueen and five siblings.
Survivors include her two sons, Bruce E. (Mavis) Bell of Elizabethtown and Roy J. (Andrea) Bell III of Hawaii; a stepdaughter, Jean L. Hess of Chicago; a sister, Gladys Reynolds; three granchildren, Davis, Emily and Cheryl; two great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Ava; four nephews and five nieces.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Jeff Reneer officiating. Burial follows in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
