Earl McMillen Jr., 92, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Louisville.
He was a native of Hardin County, a 1940 graduate of Rineyville High School and served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II
He was a life-member, past commander and original member of the color guard of American Legion Post No. 113. He was the first governor of the Elizabethtown Moose Club
, past president of Hardin County Wildlife, a volunteer fireman
in Elizabethtown and past Chef DeGare of the 40 and 8. He was a homebuilder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Earl McMillen Sr. and Lillian Hutchins McMillen.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Eileen Davis McMillen; a daughter, Sylvia ""Susie"" (James) Woosley; two sons, Felix Earl ""Spike"" (Vicki) McMillen and Mark Curtis McMillen, all of Elizabethtown; and three grandchildren, Stacey Rock, Amanda Johnson and Megan McMillen.
A graveside service is at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Hardin Memorial Park in Elizabethtown.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
