Edwin Stanley "Ted" House Sr., 85, of Elizabethtown, passed away on April 22, 2014, at his home.
He was a devoted family man and a retired dairy farmer. He loved sharing his life with his wife, watching his boys play ball, farming, holding his grandchildren, raising and training dogs, listening to music, playing cards and watching University of Kentucky basketball games with his daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Claudine Morrison House; three brothers, Clint House, Adrian House and James House; and five sisters, Imalda Beeler, Etta Caswell, Claudine Cecil, Ellen Hannah and Juanita Perkins.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josephine Barry House; four sons, Barry House and his wife, Tonja, of Frankfort, Gary House and his wife, Maria Elena, of Washington, D.C., Eddie House and his wife, Valerie, of Crestwood, and Jeffrey House and his wife, Christina, of Kennesaw, Ga.; and a daughter, Joni House Webb and her husband, Ed, of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren and three great-granddaughters, Cory House of Lexington, Emily Gerlach and her husband, Scott, of Crestwood, Amy Tucker and her husband, Clark, of Shelbyville, Melissa Humphries and her husband, Scott, of Nashville, Tenn., Natalie House-Lewis and her husband, Daniel, of Louisville, Chloe and Katy House of Kennesaw, Lola and Mila Gerlach, and Rachel Tucker. He also is survived by two sisters, Emma Duval and Vicki Berry, both of Elizabethtown.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Brown Funeral Home with Jeffrey House officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
