Erma Lou Morgan Bewley, 67, of Vine Grove, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Erma was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and the International Military Student Organization. She taught approximately
800 students voice and piano, was the church pianist for many years, a school teacher
and a graduate of West Hardin High School and Campbellsville University.
Mrs. Bewley competed in vocal competitions and once portrayed Jenny Lind when she sang for one of Kentucky's governors.
She was a happy person that enjoyed playing jokes on her very large family and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Jackson Bewley; her parents, Abraham and Emma Mae Daugherty Morgan; four brothers, Clifford Dale, Marion, Donnie and Ralph Morgan; and a sister, Ina Kerfoot.
She is survived by two sons, Chris Bewley and Kimble Bewley, both of Radcliff; two brothers, Bernard (Marcella) Morgan of Elizabethtown and Louie (Jeanette) Morgan of Rineyville; four sisters, Juanita (J.D.) Morris of Caneyville, Marjorie Sharp of Millerstown, Jane (Bernie) Lucas and Sue (Wayne) Hayden, all of Rineyville; and two grandsons, Tyler Klug and Konner Bewley.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with the Rev. James E. Clark and the Rev. Gary
Kasey officiating. Burial follows in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Vine Grove.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
