Garnet McQueen Wilson, 89, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Helmwood Health Care Facility.
She was a native of Moores Creek and a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church where she was a GA Leader and a Sunday school teacher at both churches. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader. She was a retired teacher with Elizabethtown City Schools and Fort Knox Community Schools and was an accomplished seamstress, especially with Angels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ance C. and Sarah Moore McQueen.
She is survived by her son, Charley (Linda) Wilson of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Linda Kay (Michael) Menard of Vermont; two sisters, Gladys Reynolds of Lexington and Doris Bell of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Bradley Wilson and Jeffrey Wilson; and four great-grandchildren, Isabella, Nathaniel, Dakota and Cash Wilson.
A graveside service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Medlock Cemetery in Annville with the Rev. Katherine Redmond officiating.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. at the chapel in Annville Institute.
Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Annville Institute.

What a sweet lady. I was fortunate enough to have her as a second grade teacher and then as a fellow teacher at Fort Knox. My prayers are with you all.
