H.B. Fleming, 70, of Radcliff, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Retired Sgt. 1st Class Fleming was in the Army 21 years and nine months. While he was in service he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and a Bronze Star
Medal. After retiring from the Army he worked in civil service for 13 years. He also was an assistant minister at North Hardin Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Inon Fleming and Eliza (Smith) Fleming; and nine siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Fleming of Radcliff; four daughters, Sebrena Martin and retired Sgt. 1st Class LaShon Fleming, both of Louisville, Lt. Col. Angela Cross of Navarre, Fla., and Bonita Jones of Clayton, N.C.; three sisters, Imogene Hill of Dallas, Lois Elliott and Lillie Luster, both of Mount Pleasant; a brother, Norris Fleming of Abilene, Texas; six grandchildren, Nicole Brown, Ambrose Jones, Airman Michael Jones, Tony L. Hunter Jr., Myles Hunter and Devyn Ersery; and two great-granddaughters, Amari Brown and Gabriella Brown.
The funeral service is at noon Friday, Feb. 15, at North Hardin Church of Christ with Brothers Melvin Spencer and Dennis Hogan officiating. Burial follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff and continues at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
