James E. "Jimmy Jack" Lucas

James E. "Jimmy Jack" Lucas, 63, of Cecilia, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 22, 1949, in Breckenridge County. He served in the Navy and attended Liberty Chapel Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and lifelong farmer.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred Lucas.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lucas, a son, Russell Lucas and a daughter, Rebecca Lucas, all of Cecilia; three sisters, Joyce Quiggins of Irvington, Margie Wilkes of Radcliff and Frances Coffman of Indiana; one brother, Jerry Lucas of Irvington; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan.8, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Jimmy Sutton officiating. Burial follows, with military honors, in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
