James Gilbert "Jimbo" Macy, 51, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at his residence.
A native of Elizabethtown, he was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a 1979 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and graduated from barber college in Lexington. He taught at Knoxville Barber College and owned Macy's Hair and Nails.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Macy.
He is survived by his mother, Maxine Weaver Macy; four sisters, Brenda Macy and Honey (Jim) Higdon, all of Elizabethtown, Sharon Macy of Madisonville and Karen Macy of Elizabethtown; four nieces and nephews, Cherish (Robby) Cothern, Andrew Higdon, Macy Higdon and Alex Higdon; and three great-nieces and great-nephews, Hunter Cothern, Madison Cothern and Logan Cothern.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Mark Judd officiating. Burial follows in Hardin Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
