Joseph Richard Hodskins, 90, of Benton, formerly of Radcliff and Owensboro, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012.
He was born Oct. 25, 1922, in Daviess County to the late Clarence Melvin and Mary Emma Galloway Hodskins. He was a retired U.S. Army
veteran and U.S. civil service employee. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the National Uniform Service.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Eckless Hodskins and Martin Ivo Hodskins; and two sisters, Genola Marie Payne and Anna Joyce Calhoun.
Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth Pauline Crafton Hodskins; three children, Jodi (Tony) Barber of Estero, Fla., Roxane (Chris) Heath of Benton and James Paul (Debbie) Hodskins of Ofallon, Ill.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Audrey Louise Fogle, Mary Wilma Farmer, Rosa Lee Ap-pleby, Doris Elizabeth Westerfield and Patricia Ellen Jackson, all of Owensboro, William Kenneth Hodskins of Waterford, Mich., Margaret Floella (Dot) Drury of West Louisville and Martha Jean Edwards of Louisville.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with the Rev. Bruce McCarty officiating. Burial follows in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home in Owensboro.
