Leo Abe Stilts, 65, of Sonora, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at his residence.
He was a member of Sonora United Methodist Church. He also was a farmer and a 35-year member of Sonora Fire and Rescue Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Louvera Gentry Stilts; and one infant son.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Haynes Stilts of Sonora; a son, Christopher (Lori Melton) Stilts of Upton; six sisters, Nancy Beard of Campbellsville, Lelia Smith and Betty Calhoun, both of Columbia, and Mary Curtsinger, Annie Curry and Ruby Stilts, all of Greensburg; five brothers, the Rev. Eudell Stilts and J.W. Stilts, both of Greensburg, Norman Stilts of Magnolia and Mark "Buddy" Stilts and Ray Stilts, both of Columbia; and three stepgrandchildren.
The funeral is at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Sonora United Methodist Church in Sonora with the Revs. Kevin Stamps and Eudell Stilts officiating. Burial follows in Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
