Lisa Jo Hays Charness, 51, of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Elizabethtown, lost her three-year battle with cancer Thursday, April 10, 2014.
She was a graduate of Elizabethtown High School Class of 1980 and a graduate of Milligan College in Tennessee. She had a career as a blood services coordinator for the American Red Cross in northern Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Hays; and her grandparents, J.M.F. and Louise Hays and Leroy and Elizabeth Hanna.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 20 years, Michael Charness; a stepdaughter, Ramona Charness Jackson; her mother, Lenelle Hanna Hays of Elizabethtown; and one brother, Lee (Carol) Hays of St. Charles, Mo.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Glendale Christian Church Chapel in Glendale with Brothers Mike Bell and Doug Mitchell officiating. Interment follows in Glendale Christian Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
