Malisa Crain Coombs, 47, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
She was a native of Hodgenville and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church and Phi Theta Kappa. She worked at Ireland Army Hospital at Fort Knox.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Hubert and Mary Alice Metcalfe Crain; a brother, Richard Crain; and a granddaughter, Shantea Coombs.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Joseph Wayne Coombs; two sons, Joseph Bryan Coombs and Christopher Michael Coombs, both of Elizabethtown; three daughters, April Denise Coombs (Demery Brown) of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Allison Brooke John-son and Amanda Carol Johnson-Glass (Nick), all of Elizabethtown; four brothers, Gary Crain of Dawson Springs, Randy Crain of Howardstown, Lanny Crain of Phoenix and Darrell Crain of White City; one sister, Judy Harris of Elizabethtown; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Mitch Ash officiating. Burial follows in Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at noon Friday at the funeral home.
