Mary Sue Scott, 66, of Big Clifty, earned her angel wings so she could personally wish Jesus a happy birthday, on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013. at her residence.
She was born Feb. 18, 1947, in Big Clifty, the daughter of Bernard and Marie Webb Pearl.
She was a simple woman who loved God, family, friends, UK basketball, swinging on the front porch, lighthouses, flowers, butterflies and ladybugs, to name a few. She liked the smell of early spring but it would get her allergies going.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Mike Pearl.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William J. Scott of Big Clifty; four children, Billy Scott of Big Clifty, Tommy and Nikki Scott of Flaherty, Angie and Gary Hatcher of Big Clifty and Chris Scott of Big Clifty; four grandchildren, Hailey Hatcher, Abagail Susman, Sierra Hatcher and Lila Scott; and four brothers, Gary and Lois, Larry, Jeff and Lonnie Pearl, all of Louisville.
"She will always be in our heart. Her love will live forever."
The funeral is at 11 a.m. CST Monday, Dec. 23, at Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with the Rev. Steve Hohman officiating. Burial follows in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Big Clifty.
Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. CST Sunday and from 9 a.m. CST until time of service Monday at the funeral home
