Mary Suzanne "Suzie" Mattingly Ball, 63, of New Haven, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at her home.
She was born Oct. 30, 1949, in Elizabethtown, to the late Fredrick Louis "Fred" and Mary Ruth Walters Mattingly. She was a member of New Haven First Baptist Church in New Haven and she retired from Trim Master's in Bardstown after 20 years of service. She was associated with William R. Rust Funeral Home. She was a member of the Women's Bowling League from the 1980s through the 1990s and the Nelson County Fair Board.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Ray Ball of New Haven; five sons, John Allen (Elmer) Ball of Lexington and Brent (Deanna) Ball, Damon (Tabetha) Ball, Jonathan (Amanda) Ball and Brandon Ball, all of New Haven; three daughters, Alicia (Chris) Grimes of Hodgenville, Sarah (Aaron) Childers of New Haven and Erica (Justin) Rhorer of Lexington; one brother, Ricky (Fran) Mattingly of Bardstown; one aunt, Cheryl Mattingly Johnson of New Haven; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral for Mary Suzanne "Suzie" Mattingly Ball is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in the chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., in New Haven with the Rev. Justin Rhorer officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
