Michael Ray Smallwood, 57, of Louisville, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was born at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, but settled in Hardin County as an adult. He was a graduate of Sullivan University and volunteered as a chef in support of Wayside Christian Missions.
He is survived by his parents, Bobby and Rosemary Smallwood of Waco, Texas; two brothers, Rusty Savage (Neal Smallwood) of Eugene, Oregon, and Timothy Smallwood of Kansas City, Kansas; four sisters, Wanda Gayle Zucha of Waco, Texas, Teresa Jones of Coldwater, Kansas, Linda Roeder of Fort Worth, Texas and Jane Lorenzen of Rockwall, Texas, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Capt. Arthur James Dickerson III officiating. Burial follows in White Mills Cemetery.
Visitation is at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
