Mickey Douglas Raisor, 63, of Elizabethtown, for-merly of Okolona, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014.
Mickey was retired from GE, where he worked for 36 years as an assembly worker. He served for 25 years on the Okolona Fire Department as a volunteer fireman. For 18 of those years, he was an assistant chief and he served on the board of trustees for 17 years. Mickey was a volunteer deputy game warden for 11 years at Fort Knox, was a member of the NRA, Zoneton Masonic Lodge No. 964 F &AM, American Legion Post No. 113 and Patriot Guard. Mickey was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Thelma (Richmond) Raisor; his brother, James Raisor; and his sister, Audrey Clayton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy (Casey) Raisor; a son, Douglas Raisor; a daughter, Tanya (Brad) Thurman; a granddaughter, Madison Thurman; a grandson, Blake Thurman; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral is at noon Saturday, Jan. 11, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Paul Roundtree officiating. Burial follows in Valley Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and continues from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
