Nancy Elizabeth Ash

Nancy Elizabeth Ash, 91, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was a native of Bourbon County, retired after 40 years as an election poll worker and had one of the longest memberships at Valley Creek Baptist Church. She also was a charter member of the United Homemakers of Hardin County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall H. Ash; a son, Hays Ash; a granddaughter, Becky Lickliter; two great-grandchildren, Mary Ash and Stacy Railey; her parents, F. L. and Ethel Mae Hamill Metzger; and her brother and sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Frankie (Jerry) Lawson of Elizabethtown; two sons, Joe (Terry) Ash of Eastview and Charles Ash of Elizabethtown; a daughter-in-law, Roxie Ash of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Monday at Valley Creek Baptist Church in Elizabethtown with the Revs. Scott Kerr and Howard Pryor officiating. Burial follows in Valley Creek Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and continues at 10 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
