Rosa (Gramlich) Burg, 86, of Elizabethtown, formerly of New Holstein, Wis., passed away at home Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Rosa was born Oct 25, 1927, in Grosslangheim, Germany. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She loved to travel with her husband, a retired U.S. Army WWII and Korean veteran, and family. Rosa and her husband volunteered at the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse for 18 years in New Holstein.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelina and Otto Gramlich; two sisters, Elfriede and Hildegard; and two brothers, Robert and Artur.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Sylvester Burg; three daughters, Ingrid Marks of Germany, Sylvia and Chris Nostrant of Williamsburg, Va., and Pam and Bob Borger of Flaherty; a grandson, Michael Borger of Flaherty; a sister, Rita and Herbert Estenfelder of Germany; a sister-in-law, Erika Gramlich of Germany; a brother-in-law, Charles Burg of Chilton, Wis.; friends, John and Honey Leibham and Sister Dora of New Holstein; and was loved by many others.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with the Rev. Dennis Cousens officiating. Burial is in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There is no visitation Monday.
