Stuart "Hambone" Humphrey

Stuart "Hambone" Humphrey, 74, of Elizabethtown, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at University Hospital in Louisville.

Stuart served in the U.S. Army and completed one tour in the Vietnam War. He retired after 30 years from Gates Rubber Quality Department.

He was preceded in death by a son, Darby Humphrey; his parents, Granville W. and Aline Laswell Humphrey; a brother, Henry Humphrey; and a sister, Lillian Johnson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Phyllis Strader Humphrey; a son, Jason Humphrey; a daughter-in-law of 18 years, Kristin, of Vine Grove; three beautiful granddaughters, Lilly, Maddie and Elizabeth Humphrey of Vine Grove; and many special nieces, nephews and in-laws.

A private service will be at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Gary Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Youngers Creek Cemetery.
