The Rev. Allen Lynn "Lynnie" Rucker, 55, of Upton, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at University Hospital in Louisville after a long illness.
He was a self-employed construction worker. Mr. Rucker was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He also was devoted first and foremost to his Jesus and telling others about him. He attended Freedoms Way Church with his bothers and sisters in Christ.
He was the son of the late James Russell Rucker and Hazel Mae Murphy Rucker.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kathy Rucker; two daughters, Lorrie Rucker and Amiee Snyder and her husband, Jamie, all of Upton; two sisters, Mavonia Deaton and her husband, Ron, of Sonora and Connie Monngey and her husband, Mike, of Munfordville; four brothers, Larry Rucker and wife, Brenda of Cub Run, Daryl Rucker and wife, Carlene, of Upton, David Rucker and his wife, Susie, of Munfordville and Kevin Rucker and his wife, Tina, of Clarksville, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Ruby Brownfield of Upton; three stepgrandchildren, Tyler Brownfield of Hodgenville and Colton and Becca Snyder of Upton; and a beloved pet, Festus.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. CST Thursday, Sept. 12, at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with the Revs. Wally Mantooth and Billy Curle officiating. Interment follows in Rucker Family Cemetery in Upton.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST Wednesday and continues from 9 to 11 a.m. CST Thursday at the funeral home.
