Brent Lee Wagoner, 45, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Scottsville, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at his home.

He was born Aug. 4, 1968, in Bowling Green to Charles Wagoner and Doris Petty Wagoner of Scottsville. He was the assistant principal and boys basketball coach at East Hardin Middle School. He was a member of Mount Union United Methodist Church in Allen County and attended First Christian Church in Elizabethtown. He was active with the Special Olympics program and a member of the Kentucky Teachers Association.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Janice and Hubert Petty and Mable and Cordell Wagoner.

He is survived by one sister, Michele Oakes and her husband, Nathan, of Scottsville; one niece, Ashley Towe and her husband, Ryne; one nephew, Colton Oakes of Scottsville; one uncle, Phillip Petty of Scottsville; two aunts, Benita Chandler and Barbara Towns and her husband, Billy, all of Dixon Springs, Tenn.; and three special friends, Courtney Crews of Scottsville and Jo Edwards and Melanie Kiene, both of Elizabethtown.

The funeral is at 3 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville. Burial follows in Mount Union United Methodist Church Cemetery in Allen County.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday and continues at 7:30 a.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the East Hardin Middle School boys basketball team.
