Jonathan French, 25, of Elizabethtown, died Wed­nes­day, Aug. 6, 2014, in the line of duty.

He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Stephensburg Missionary Baptist Church. He was a farmer and a volunteer firefighter with the Glendale Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Katie Elizabeth French.

He is survived by his parents, Jackie R. and Lisa Peters French of Glendale; a brother, Joshua (Tonya) French of Eastview; two sisters, Heather French and Rebekah French, both of Glendale; his fiance, Jessica Eldridge; a special uncle and fire chief, Richard Peters; and several other aunts and uncles.

The funeral with full firefighters honors is at noon Monday, Aug. 11, at First Christian Church in Elizabethtown with Brother Doug Sanders officiating. Burial follows in Sutzer Creek Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and continues from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at First Christian Church.
