Mary Lorene Kelley Fogle, 82, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.

She was born March 26, 1931, in Peonia in Grayson County, where she lived the first 17 years of her life. On Nov. 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Conway R. Fogle, who survives her. She also was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove.
Mary was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 10281 and American Legion Post No. 113. She was one of the first certified EMT's in Meade County and was a Kentucky Colonel.
She was a volunteer firefighter, not auxiliary, in Muldraugh and a member of Kentucky Rescue Squad No. 13 in Meade County. Mary was a den mother for the Boy Scouts of America in Muldraugh. She was involved in numerous volunteer projects in Meade and Hardin counties.
Her main objective in life, aside from her two children, was helping people and she made many lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark A. Fogle; her parents, Lanus F. Kelley and Ann Elizabeth Brown Kelley of Leitchfield; and three brothers, Frances Kelley of Peonia, Thomas F. "Tom" Kelley of Leitchfield (Ruby and Alice), James M. "Mike" Kelley (Lucy) of Muldraugh; and two sisters, Lyla A. Kelley of Peonia and Nellie C. Kelley Carter (Jim) of El Paso.
Also surviving is a daughter, Patricia L. Fogle Thompson; three grandchildren, Aaron Fogle, Lance Fogle (Susan) and Heidi Cramer Simmons (Timmy); five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, for one of whom she was foster mother, Elizabeth Carter Wildes "Betsy;" and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. EST Friday, Feb. 7, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with the Rev. Daniel Lincoln officiating. Burial follows at St. Anthony Cemetery in Peonia.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A prayer service is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
