William L. "Bill" Greenleaf, 89, of Hodgenville, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.

Mr. Greenleaf was a retired first sergeant for the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War and retired bus driver for the LaRue County School System. He was a member of LaRue Baptist Church in Hodgenville, the DAV, the VFW, was a Kentucky Colonel and held various offices for the American Legion Post No. 87 in Hodgenville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma L. Greenleaf; a son, Steven Greenleaf; a granddaughter, Lori Beth Allen; a grandson, William Jeremiah "B.J." Greenleaf; his parents, Perry and Abby Stump Greenleaf and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Allen of Hodgenville and Susan (Ron) Smith of Elizabethtown; four sons, Bill (Kathie) Greenleaf, Mark (Joyce) Greenleaf and Chris (Kristy) Greenleaf all of Hodgenville and David (Janet) Greenleaf of New Washington, Indiana; a sister, Mary "Sissy" (Ed) Guggisberg of Hodgenville; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and fiver great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at the LaRue Baptist Church with Pastor Donald Kennedy officiating. Burial with military honors follows in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m., today July 13, where there is a DAV service at 6 p.m. Visitation continues after 9 a.m. Monday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
