Allean Wright Skaggs, 96, of Hodgenville, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a charter member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Elizabethtown. She retired after 30 years of service as a stock record clerk inFort Knox and was an avid UK and LaRue County sports fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lloyd Skaggs; her parents, Dan and Dora Dunn Wright; and a brother, Arvin Wright.
She is survived by two daughters, Madonna (Joe) Shanks and Janice Jones, both of Hodgenville; a sister, Mary Eleanor Kennady of Hodgenville; two grandchildren, Tracy (Cale) Tharp and Gregory Mayfield; five great-grandchildren, Hannah (John) Stevenson, Aaron Mayfield, Allie Perkins, Chase Watson and Hilary Skaggs; and two special nieces, Jo Vickery and Koochie (Gary) Routt.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Brother Gordon McDowell, Brother Merrill Kurtz and Cale Tharp officiating. Burial follows in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at noon Friday at the funeral home.
