Mrs. Anna Izola Wathen, 94, of Flaherty, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Mrs. Wathen was preceded in death by her husband, William Otho Wathen; her parents, James Henry and Mary Melissa Greenwell Brown; seven siblings; and a great grandchild.
She is survived by 11 children, Martha Ann (Don) Stewart of Louisville, Laverne (Henry) Pike and Judy (Chester) Sipes, all of Brandenburg, Norma Jean Black of Covington, Linda (Les) Rogers of Rineyville, Rebecca (Joseph) Yates of Elizabethtown, Anthony (Alexis) Wathen of London, Ky., Theresa (Wesley) Prather, Pat (Paula) Wathen and Tommy (Lisa) Wathen, all of Vine Grove, and David Earl Wathen of Hereford, Texas; 39 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church with the Rev. Kevin Bryan officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
