"Our sweet precious mother Barbara Jean Walden, born Jan. 2, 1939, to Homer and Vella Spear of Tompkinsville, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013."
The Guest Book is expired.
"Mom spent her childhood with a sister, Helen Savage of Hestand, and a brother, Harold Spear of Gamaliel, who passed away in 2006. She married William Ronald Walden on March 31, 1956. Soon after they married, they moved to Indianapolis, where they raised two daughters, Teresa (Henry) Davis of Radcliff and Rhonda Gordon Hurd of Elkhart, Ind. Mom worked and retired at RCA. Our loving parents raised us going camping, fishing, boating, going to church and loving the Lord. After Dad passed away Jan. 3, 2000, Mom moved to Vine Grove. She loved spending time with her five grandchildren, Betty Young and Gary Davis, both of Hardin County, and Tony (Kristin) Muir, Mike Muir and Heather Deon, all of Elkhart County, Ind.; and three great-grandchildren. We are going to miss her dearly and will cherish the memories until we meet again in Heaven."
Visitation is from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, and continues at 11 a.m. Friday at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove.
