Bessie Cundiff, 87, of Elizabethtown, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at her home.

She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

"Bessie is now an angel in God's Garden and she's the prettiest flower there."

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gracie Aubrey Young; two brothers, James and Harold Young; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Cundiff.

Survivors include a daughter, Hope Cundiff; three sisters, Emma Hicks, Lucille "Sis" (Melvin) Witten and Mary Jane (Monty) Hornback; two brothers, Calvin (Treva) Young and Charles Young; two grandchildren, David (Lacie) Cundiff and Kristi (Joey Culver) Despain; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Despain and Autumn and Dottie Cundiff; and a dear friend, Dorothy Morehead.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Brother Steve Hill officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
