Ms. Bethel E. Coomes Blair, 92, formerly of Taylor County, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at her residence in Hodgenville.
Bethel E. Blair was the daughter of the late Ella Christie and Marvin Harden.
Bethel was a member of First Church of God and retired from Fruit of the Loom. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and a friend to many.
She also was preceded in death by her husbands, Herman Lee Coomes and Montie Blair, two daughters, Shirley Keltner and Janet Mullins; one grandson, Neil Smothers; one brother; and six sisters.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and James Jeffries of Hodgenville and Patricia and Steve Scroggins of Jeffersonville; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight stepchildren, Ted (Jewel) Blair of Elizabethtown and Darrell (Wilma) Blair, Donnie (Marcella) Blair, Roger (Donna) Blair, Carolyn (Walter) Kenser, Shirlene (Gary) Osborne, Dixie (Haywood) Riner and Lou Ann (Jack) Beard, all of Campbellsville; and a host of family and friends.
The funeral was Sunday, June 23, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery with Brothers Evan Tedder and Haywood Riner officiating.
Pallbearers were Charles Hutchins, Jr. Klinglesmith, Mike Chatman, Mike Keltner, Cody Keltner and Kirt Keltner.
