Blythe Ann Fisher Gehr, 67, of Hodgenville, peacefully passed away at home Saturday, June 30, 2012. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was an active member of Hodgenville United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for more than 20 years and volunteered with many of the church activities. She earned a bachelor's degree in library science at the State University of New York at Geneseo and a master's in counseling from Western Kentucky University. She was a media specialist at Fort Knox Community Schools for 25 years. Upon retirement, she volunteered in the libraries at Abraham Lincoln Elementary and LaRue County Middle schools. Blythe was very creative and after retiring, completed more than 40 quilts.
Blythe was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Lucille Fisher of Springwater, N.Y.; and her brother, Barry M. Fisher (Carol) of Conesus, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, George W. "Bill" Gehr; a son, George S. Gehr (Kimberly); and a daughter, Heidi L. Overstreet. She adored her two grandsons, Jesse and Harrison Gehr; and granddaughter, Hailey Overstreet.
A memorial service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Hodgenville United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family begins following the memorial service until 6 p.m.
