Carolyn Joan McCorkle, 67, of Hodgenville, passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at her residence.

She was a member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church, retired from General Electric in Louisville after 28 years of service, and was a member of Ladies Auxiliary at American Legion Post 87 in Hodgenville and a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by parents, Bernard and Christine Bohanon Powell; her stepmother, Beulah Smith; and a stepsister, Harolyn Stewart.
She is survived by two sons, James Edward (Wendy) McCorkle Jr. of Mount Washington and Troy Vincent (Jeanna) McCorkle of Ferdinand, Ind.; a stepsister, Emma Lou Lorey of Somerset; six grandchildren, Eric McCorkle, Kelsey Nordhoff, Candy McCorkle, Colton McCorkle, Kara Nordhoff and Brandon McCorkle; and two very special friends, Wanda Goins and Myrna Carpenter.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Mike Akridge officiating. Burial follows in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
