Colleen Maier, 82, of Radcliff, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Kensington Manor Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.
Maj. Maier retired from the U.S. Army in 1969 and was a veteran of the Korea and Vietnam wars. She worked as a realtor for 30 years and formerly owned Armour Reality Company. She was a lifemember of V.F.W. Post No. 10281.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nellie Cool Maier; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ralph and Marie Maier, Darrell and Dorothy Maier, Monroe and Dorlinda Maier and Herschell Maier; and a brother-in-law, Norman Messenger.
She is survived by a sister, Susan E. Messenger of Radcliff; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Dodie Maier of Radcliff; six nephews and their wives, Nor-man and Diane Messenger, David and Marsha Maier, Mark and Theresa Messenger, James and Shelly Maier, Bruce and Cheryl Maier and Sean Maier; five nieces and their husbands, Debbie and Randy Plum, Shannon Maier, Colleen and Thomas Mann, Margaret Shaffer and Sharon and Larry Marrell; and a sister-in-law, Alice Maier.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Browning Funeral Home Inc. in Kingwood, W.Va.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and continues at noon Monday at the funeral home.
Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff is in charge of local arrangements.
